Airport Toyota Women’s Weekend Outlook - Thursday July 20, 2023

Presented by Airport Toyota

The reigning premiers in Keilor have been teetering in and around the top four and will have a chance to all but lock in their spot when they take on Oak Park.

It won’t be easy for the Blues with Oak Park locking in second spot and the double chance, with this last matchup resulting in a 27-point victory for the Kangaroos.

Alex Quigley kicked four goals to go with two from Shanel Camilleri.

Moonee Valley are sitting third on the ladder with Keilor hot on their heels, but with a win against Strathmore this week, they’ll just about lock in their place in the finals.

The last time these sides met, the Fog won by 67 points with Nicole Chiera booting six goals.

Maribyrnong Park will be relying on Keilor or Moonee Valley to lose both games and win their next two with a percentage boost.

Their ultimate task will be Oak Park next week, but they’ll have to get through Hillside first.

The Sharks have won their last two games but Marby were able to win by 56 points the last time they played.

Alex McBride-Loane kicked four goals with Zoe Manning named their best in their twilight triumph at Shark Park.

The undefeated Aberfeldie will travel to Willowbrook Reserve in the final game to play Westmeadows.

Greenvale will be looking to reclaim top spot when they play Tullamarine at Jacana Reserve.

The Jets were dethroned following their loss to Essendon Doutta Stars with Burnside Heights taking top spot, but with both of those sides having a bye and Greenvale playing the Bears next week, a win would just about lock in first.

Even with a win, the Bears would need to make up a 70 per cent difference.

The last time Greenvale and Tullamarine played, the Jets won by 14 goals.

Gisborne will take on Sunbury Lions in a twilight fixture at Gardiner Oval.

It was a 32-point victory for Gisborne last time they met with Charlotte Noonan starring with five goals.

Sunbury Kangaroos will host Moonee Valley 2 at Eric Boardman Reserve.

The Fog got the better of the Kangaroos the last time they met by 53 points, with Georgia Seymour kicking three goals.

Finals are out of the question for the Kangaroos, but a win will go a long way for their confidence against a side that’s locked in for finals footy.

A double chance is up for grabs with Aberfeldie 2 a game ahead of Coburg Districts plus a fair bit of percentage.

The Lions will be relying on Abers to lose their following week should they win on Saturday, but their place in the finals is secure.

Abers won by four goals the last time they faced Coburg Districts.

Airport West are looking to maintain their unbeaten streak when they play Pascoe Vale at Raeburn Reserve.

The Eagles have been dominant all year and it was no different in their last meeting with the Panthers who’ve done well since their move into Division Two.

Chey Macumber and Emily Gipp each kicked six goals with Georgia O’Donovan chipping in for five as they surged to a 150-point victory.

The two sides that find themselves on the bottom of the ladder will square off in Westmeadows 2 and Maribyrnong Park 2.

Marby have a win and a percentage buffer on Westy, but it was only a 13-point game the last time they met in favour of the Lions.

Westy led at the final change, but an inaccurate Marby outfit powered home to take the win.
