Strathmore has made it 12 wins in a row after defeating Aberfeldie by 27 points at Lebanon Reserve.
The win strengthens the reigning premier's grip on top spot on the ladder with the side now three games clear on top.
Despite putting up a reasonable performance, Saturday’s match showed Aberfeldie still have work to do if they want to return to the pointy end of the competition.
Leigh Tudor’s men are currently still inside the top five, however only have a 5-4 record and are in danger of being jumped by Essendon Doutta Stars.
After an even first quarter, Strathmore had its noses in front at quarter time thanks to a three-goal-to-two opening term.
The lead was stretched out to 21 points at the half time break with Strathmore making the most of its chances and booting four goals for the quarter.
With the game slipping away from them, Abers responded with six third-quarter goals to level up the score heading into the final term.
With the game on the line, Strathmore’s class shone through with the reigning premier booting six final-quarter goals to run away with a strong victory.
Liam Cavanagh continues to hold the mantle as the competition’s best defender with another dominant performance, while youngster Alex Tonelli stood tall again with four goals.
Despite going down Anthony Horomidis stepped up in his 250th game for Abers and kicked two goals, while Jack Middleton was very good in the ruck again.
After the break, Abers will be hoping to return to the winner's list when they take on Airport West at Hansen Reserve, while Strathmore will meet with Deer Park.
