MATCH CENTRE

Keilor has made it back-to-back wins with a 25-point triumph over Greenvale at Section Road.

The Jets started strongly with the opening two goals of the game, before Keilor kicked the next five to take a 19-point lead into the first change.

The Blues remained in control for the rest of the contest and fended off Greenvale's challenges, one of which coming in the final term when the Jets got to within 18 points.

Chris Kosmas was a big factor in the win kicking six goals, while Christian Olivieri (four goals) and Cody Brand (three goals) were reliable inside forward 50.

Captain Kane Barbuto was among the best with two majors, while Nick O'Kearney was the standout for the Blues.

Riley Leedham had arguably his best game in green and black kicking seven goals in a best-on-ground display.

Anthony Rock and the Jets will look to bounce back next week against Airport West, while Keilor will host Maribyrnong Park.

AIRPORT WEST 11.13 (79) def. by STRATHMORE 22.15 (147)
MATCH CENTRE

A monstrous final quarter saw Strathmore power away to a 68-point win over Airport West at Hansen Reserve.

It was an even first three quarters that saw the Mores lead by eight points at the first two breaks, and 17 points heading into the last.

Strathmore would incredibly kick nine unanswered goals in the final term to take home the four points.

Athan Tsialtas continued his impressive run with another bag of four goals in a best-on-ground performance, while Matt Allison returned with three goals, alongside Corey Grindlay.

Eight players kicked multiple goals for Strathmore with Lachlan Plant and Tristan Borghouts among those, and among the best.

Kai Daniels was named the best for Airport West with skipper Ned Gentile and Matt Hanson, the latter kicking two majors.

The Eagles will look to get off the bottom of the ladder when they take on Greenvale, while Strathmore will host Hillside.

HILLSIDE 14.7 (91) def. ABERFELDIE 14.6 (90)
MATCH CENTRE

Hillside has completed one of the upsets of the season with a one-point win over Aberfeldie at Shark Park.

The Sharks now sit in eighth following the win, while Abers sit second.

It was a tense contest from the start with the sides trading goals in the opening term, as Aberfeldie took a five-point lead into quarter time.

Aberfeldie managed a run of three unanswered goals in the second term, but two late goals for the Sharks brought the margin back to within a kick at the main break.

The Sharks struck first in the third quarter with the opening two goals, but Aberfeldie managed another run of goals into time-on to lead by 13 points at the final change.

Hillside tied things up seven minutes into the last quarter, before Aberfeldie goaled and led by one straight kick heading into time-on.

A behind at the 20-minute mark proved to be a handy point for Hillside, as Nick Fluke sent one through the middle in what was ultimately the game winner.

Lucas Failli and James McNaughton each kicked four goals, while experienced pair Robbie Castello (two goals) and Fort Caruso (one goal) continue to show no signs of slowing down.

Atu Bosenavulagi was named Hillside's best in the famous victory, along with Ade Akintola and Noah Asciak.

Jackson Barber was a shining light in the loss for Abers, the young gun kicking three goals in his third senior game.

He was named in Aberfeldie's best with Jackson McDonald, Anthony Horomidis, and Ben Parker.

The Sharks will look to carry the momentum from this contest into their next against Strathmore, while Aberfeldie will prepare for Essendon Doutta Stars.

MARIBYRNONG PARK 9.10 (64) def. by PASCOE VALE 17.18 (120)
MATCH CENTRE

Pascoe Vale has enjoyed a commanding 56-point win over Maribyrnong Park at Monk Oval.

The Panthers launched themselves up into second spot with the win, while Marby sit in fourth.

It was a fast start for the Lions with eight scoring shots in the opening term, but they were unable to make the most of their chances kicking just one goal.

Pascoe Vale well and truly fired from there kicking 17 goals to Marby's eight, taking the four points back to Raeburn Reserve.

Paul Ahern had his best day in front of goal for some time with four majors, as Dante Colosimo and Noah Scott slotted three each.

Ahern was among Pascoe Vale's best along with Aaron Hilton, Sebastian Carta, and Noah Hijazi.

The Lions will be licking their wounds after consecutive losses, but Zach Coughlan and Max Griffin can hold their heads high as two of their strongest contributors.

Marby will look to bounce back against Keilor, while Pascoe Vale will take on Deer Park.

ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 13.17 (95) def. DEER PARK 6.8 (44)
MATCH CENTRE

Seven unanswered goals in the final quarter saw Essendon Doutta Stars record a 51-point win over Deer Park at Nipper Jordan Oval.

The margin was in single digits at each break, before Douttas stormed home in the final quarter.

Liam Mercieca, Bailey Ryan, and Declan Tully all starred with three goals, while Daniel Sexton kicked one on senior debut.

Daniel Romero, Ben Thomson, and Declan Willmore were all strong in the win.

Deer Park managed just the four goal scorers in loss number four on the season.

Spiros Amarantidis and Trent McKenzie kicked two each, while Aaron Britten and Anthony Anastasio were named the Lions' best.

Deer Park will next play Pascoe Vale, while Douttas will host Aberfeldie.

CAROLINE SPRINGS 5.8 (38) def. by OAK PARK 7.4 (46)
MATCH CENTRE

Oak Park has handed Caroline Springs its first loss in the EDFL top flight as the Roos ran away eight-point winners over the Lakers in enemy territory.

After entering this contest fresh off the bye and with a confidence-boosting win over the reigning premiers under their belt, the Kangas had one thing in their sights: ending the Laker’s unbeaten run.

And that’s exactly what they did, but Oak Park certainly was made to work in order to run away with the four points.

After the blue and white got proceedings underway with a fast opening goal, the Lakers responded immediately, scoring 2.2 (14), to take an eight-point lead into the first change.

The Kangas would then go on to score the game’s next three goals before the Lakers responded with their own three, off the boots of Mira Diab, Jacinta Kondis, and Caitlyn Volpe.

Diab and Kondis would leave Saturday’s actions with two goals to their names.

It was enough to send the home side up by eight again at the final change, but it wasn’t enough to hold down a hungry Oak Park outfit that scored an unchallenged 3.3 (21) in the final term of play.

Holly McGregor, Sasha Nelson, and Meg Patrick were some of the best for the Roos, all of whom scored goals.

McGregor joined Tayah Kelly with two majors while Nelson and Patrick struck once alongside Felicity Theodore.

Caroline Springs’ three goal scorers were named some of the side’s best along with Chloe Kropman, Charlize Sindoni, and Jordin Williamson.

Next weekend will see the Lakers remain at home as they welcome Maribyrnong Park for Saturday afternoon football.

The Roos will host an exciting Saturday night contest with Moonee Valley at JP Fawkner Reserve.

KEILOR 1.4 (10) def. by MOONEE VALLEY 19.9 (123)
MATCH CENTRE

Moonee Valley is back on the winner's list for the first time since Round 1 after a percentage-boosting 113-point triumph over Keilor.

The Fog put on a masterclass display at Joe Brown Oval with seven goal scorers paving the way for victory for the black and white.

Rhiannon Busch’s side opened the match strongly with a 6.2 (38) to nil first term setting the pace for what would be replicated across the entire afternoon.

Charlotte D’Ambrosio and Matilda Zander both had a game to remember with the duo scoring five goals apiece.

They were accompanied closely by their captain in Nadia Valenti who struck goal on four occasions.

Lily Frangoulis was the other from the Valley to secure multiples with two.

Elebertina Schuliga made an appearance on the goal sheet, with one major coming off the boot of the Calder Cannon in her EDFL top flight debut.

In what currently stands as Keilor’s worst defeat in season 2026, the Blues were unable to fire against such a fast and furious opponent.

The Blues were able to put one goal onto the board, with Tahlia Psaila’s maiden Premier Division goal giving the struggling Keilor outfit something to celebrate in the second term.

Psaila made an appearance on the best-on list for the Blues, with Olivia Manfre, Maddison Cotton, and Laura Wright also giving it their all despite what the scoreboard displayed.

Keilor will have an opportunity to turn things around in next weekend’s crucial contest with Hillside at Shark Park.

Moonee Valley will shine underneath the Saturday night lights when it faces Oak Park at JP Fawkner Reserve in five days time.

STRATHMORE 5.11 (41) def. HILLSIDE 2.7 (19)
MATCH CENTRE

A final quarter Strathmore surge has sent the Mores across the finish line by 22 points over Hillside in the battle of the premiers.

In what was shaping up as an intriguing contest between last year’s Division One champions and the reigning top flight premiers, the Mores overcame a slow start to walk away winners after last weekend’s bitter 71-point loss.

After being held to just a 0.5 scoreline at the major break against the Sharks’ 1.3 (9) courtesy to Caitlin Sargent’s major, the Mores returned to the field ready to flip the script.

Strathmore booted 2.2 (14) to Hillside’s two behinds in the third term to put the lead in the home side’s favour by eight points.

With 20 more minutes of football to play, the gold and navy blue showed no intentions of slowing down, outscoring Hillside 3.4 (22) to 1.2 (8).

Milla Murphy returned to the goalscorers’ sheet with two majors and joined captain Eloise Egglestone, Maeve Langston, and Talia Motta who all sank one.

Egglestone was named one of the Mores’ best for the sixth consecutive time this season.

Sarah McKinnon, Emma Artigas, and Jasmina Curtis joined Murphy and Motta in the best-on list for Strathmore.

It’s a fourth-straight loss for the Sharks who now rest eighth on the competition table.

Emily Paterno was the other player in teal, white, and black to score big along with Sargent.

Some of the Sharks’ best in the contest were Logan Hearne, Annie Gray, and Hannah Ibrahim.

Hillside will look for an improved performance when it welcomes Keilor to Shark Park in next weekend’s contest.

Strathmore will host the season’s first Friday night match when it faces off with Essendon Doutta Stars at Boeing Reserve.

MARIBYRNONG PARK 2.5 (17) def. by ABERFELDIE 11.9 (75)
MATCH CENTRE

Aberfeldie has retained its ladder-leading status following a commanding 58-point victory over Maribyrnong Park at Walsh Oval.

The Two Blues proved too good in the contest with fast runs, slick ball movement, and causing quick turnovers, setting them up for victory.

Emily Smith struck goal for the sixth straight game, scoring a season-best haul of five majors.

In a match when Abers’ best shone, captain Olivia Madden was named the best-on-ground after a bout of leather poisoning from the number of possessions she had in the contest.

Amelia Wright was also one of the Two Blues’ best, with Jess Duffin and Meg Ginnivan (one goal) demonstrating strong performances across the field.

Lara Churchill was also among the action and owned a lot of the play.

Mo Hope held firm on the goal sheet with two majors on Saturday, joined by Erica Markesich who matched her efforts with two.

Ashleigh Gunn rounded out the scoring for Aberfeldie with one goal to her name.

Maribyrnong Park entered this match full of optimism and excitement following a 71-point demolition over Keilor and gave it their all in this match.

The Lions weren’t fazed by what the scoreboard showed.

Darcie Robinson found a lot of footy in the back half of the field and was a ball magnet in the third quarter.

Evie Fitzgerald and Ava Steel both had stints in ruck contests and played fiercely.

Dimi Papadopoulos made another senior appearance and attracted a lot of possessions, with a courageous spoil preventing a potential Mo Hope mark in the goal square late in the first quarter highlighting her day.

Tegan Matthews bolted across the ground on many occasions with fast runs and numerous bounces driving the ball into the Lions’ attacking 50.

It was Charli Calleia and Elise Korteman who brought up the Lions’ two goals in the second term of the match, giving them some hope heading into the major break.

The Lions will look to convert positive play into more scores on the board in next week’s away clash with Caroline Springs.

Aberfeldie will have the weekend off before welcoming the Lakers to Clifton Park in Round 8.

OAK PARK 19.14 (128) def. AVONDALE HEIGHTS 9.8 (62)
MATCH CENTRE

Oak Park has made light work of Avondale Heights with a convincing 66-point win at JP Fawkner Reserve.

The win sees the Roos remain in equal top position on the ladder, in a three-way battle with West Coburg and Craigieburn.

While for Avondale Heights, it's slipped down to sixth position after its third loss of the season.

After a largely even first half which saw the Roos take a mere three-goal lead into the main break, the hosts churned through their gears to explode away from the Heights.

Twelve second-half goals to five ensured the victory for the Roos who will no doubt take away great confidence from another impressive outing.

They look to be building and getting back towards playing some of their best footy.

On the other hand, two consecutive losses to top sides for the Heights sees them struggling to find form.

With another significant challenge to come next week in West Coburg, they’ll need to find a few lengths.

Adam Del Busso had a day out for the Roos with a bag of five goals to his name, while recruit Mac Hallows produced his best for the year so far.

While for the Heights, vice-captain Jackson Robb was back to his best with a valiant performance which included four goals.

Oak Park will be up against it next week when it hosts the up-and-coming Moonee Valley, while Avondale Heights will host West Coburg.

ST ALBANS 12.13 (85) def. by RUPERTSWOOD 21.17 (143)
MATCH CENTRE

Rupertswood has notched up its first win of the season with an emphatic 58-point win over St Albans.

The win comes at a great time for Rupertswood as it has an extremely winnable next three weeks to come as well.

With a win under their belts for the first time in 2026, it will be interesting to see if they can get some momentum going from this performance.

Rupo controlled the game from the get-go.

Their transition game drastically opened the Saints at times and exposed some significant flaws within their corridor defence.

After taking a four-goal buffer into the main break, Rupo turned the jets on in the second half to kick away with 13 second-half goals to eight.

Ned Crotty led from the front with three goals and ton of possessions around the ground, while Fraser Phelan-Smith and Mitchell Johnson both had a day to remember with a haul of six and five goals respectively.

Meanwhile for the Saints, Jake Galea was again one of their best with three goals and a heap of the football in what was ultimately a very disappointing day.

They have now slid down into seventh position on the ladder and are two games out of the top five.

Rupertswood will be looking to build from this when they host Taylors Lakes next week, while it gets no easier for the Saints as they hit the road to take on Tullamarine.

TAYLORS LAKES 16.6 (102) def. by CRAIGIEBURN 15.13 (103)
MATCH CENTRE

Craigieburn has sent Taylors Lakes sinking with a sensational come-from-behind victory at Lionheart Reserve.

After trailing by 23 points at the final change and letting the margin blow out to six goals at the seven-minute mark of the fourth term, the Eagles came from the clouds to overhaul the Lions in a win for the ages.

They kicked the last six goals of the game which included Riley Pappin somehow finding space on the goal line to sensationally convert a goal to put the Eagles up by a point with 40 seconds left on the clock.

Lions ruckman Lachlan Rayner clunked a loose kick out of the heavens with about five seconds to go to send the Lions back inside 50 for one last chance, but was ultimately cut short with the siren blowing while he played on off his mark.

The Eagles walked away victorious in a thriller, leaving them in equal top spot on the ladder with five wins and one loss, while the Lions continue to languish down towards bottom of the ladder with just the one win to show for so far in 2026.

Hayden Polley was an instrumental figure in the Eagles fightback, with the livewire forward slotting five majors in a feast for the afternoon.

While for the Lions, Rayner almost single-handedly got his side over the line, but it must be said this was more the Taylors Lakes we've been expecting in 2026.

Taylors Lakes need to bounce back next week when it faces Rupertswood, while Craigieburn will host East Keilor.

MOONEE VALLEY 14.9 (93) def. by WEST COBURG 13.16 (94)
MATCH CENTRE

West Coburg has fended off a fast-finishing Moonee Valley to claim victory by one point in another thriller for the weekend.

The Burgers took a 22-point lead into three-quarter time and looked to be in cruise control before the Valley stormed home with six final quarter goals to two.

Zayas Leonedas tied the game after nailing a set shot at the 26-minute mark for the Valley, but the Burgers were able to stave them off in the final three minutes to cling on to victory by the singular point.

Moonee Valley had a chance to take the lead with a set shot in the final two minutes, but were ultimately unable to finish the deal and steal the win.

The Burgers’ reliable star power of Omar Saad, Tom Baravi, and Dinny Cleary were pivotal in the win, while Jesse Martini did the damage on the scoreboard with three goals to his name.

While for the Valley, recruit Haidyn Shade battled hard all day in what was ultimately a frustrating afternoon.

Moonee Valley will need to be at their best when they travel to J P Fawkner Reserve next week for their bout with Oak Park, while West Coburg will take on Avondale Heights.

EAST KEILOR 7.8 (50) def. by TULLAMARINE 11.15 (81)
MATCH CENTRE

Tullamarine has come away from Overland Reserve with a solid 31-point win over East Keilor.

The game was largely on the Dees' terms for most of the contest, however their inaccuracy in front of goal kept the door ajar for what was proving to be a spirited East Keilor outfit.

After taking a slender 15-point lead into the main break, onlookers would have perhaps expected the Dees to kick away in the second half.

Yet this was not the case as East Keilor continued to hang around and poke doubt into the Tullamarine camp.

Ultimately the Dees got the job done by 31 points, however a greatly improved performance from East Keilor has shone a light on what’s been a difficult opening six weeks of the season.

The challenge now for the Cougars is whether or not they can carry this form into the rest of their season.

Tom Jackson booted four goals for the Dees in an exceptional nod, while Reilly Webster toiled away for the Cougars in an solid effort.

Tullamarine will host St Albans next week while East Keilor will make the trip to DS Aitken Reserve to take on the in-from Craigieburn.

KEILOR PARK 9.7 (61) def. GISBORNE 2.7 (19)
MATCH CENTRE

Keilor Park cruised past Gisborne by 42 points in a dominant display at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve.

The Devils kicked at least two goals in every single quarter and held the Bulldogs goalless to half time.

The Bulldogs conjured two goals in the second half, but it was not enough to catch the mammoth lead Keilor Park had.

It was Caitlyn Crameri’s day as she nailed an incredible six goals and led her side to a huge victory.

Along with Crameri, her teammates Reese Cook, Alyx Wilkinson, and Talisa Bartolo were all huge influencers on Saturday.

Keilor Park will be on the road next Saturday when they meet Burnside Heights at Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve.

Gisborne will need to respond when they host top-of-the-table Westmeadows at Gardiner Reserve.

SUNBURY LIONS 1.1 (7) def. by ROXBURGH PARK 6.9 (45)
MATCH CENTRE

Roxburgh Park is on the board in 2026 with a thumping victory by 38 points over the Sunbury Lions at Clarke Oval.

It has taken five weeks but finally Roxy can celebrate a win.

It was the hot start from the visitors who led by 22 at the first change. It was a scrap in the middle part of Saturday’s clash with only one goal scored combined in the second and third quarter.

The solitary goal from the Lions came late in the final term but another couple from Roxy powered them to a strong victory.

Co-Captain Haylea Cooke was seen as the best on ground with Lara Temiz and Marcelo Mina both highly rated for Roxy.

While it was a tough afternoon for the Lions, lone goal kicker Sara Magrath, along with Mia Bergamasco and Mikayla Francis all had fantastic performances in the defeat.

Sunbury Lions will be wanting to get their season back on track when they host Tullamarine at Clarke Oval next Saturday afternoon.

CRAIGIEBURN 3.6 (24) def. by BURNSIDE HEIGHTS 9.4 (58)
MATCH CENTRE

Burnside Heights made it three on the bounce in a powerful performance against Craigieburn at Vic Foster Reserve, winning by 34 points.

The Bears broke the Eagles' spirits early in the game, nailing five majors to one in the opening term. Craigieburn fought hard in the middle stages of the match to drag back the deficit, but another three goals in the third quarter from the visitors put the game out of reach for the Eagles.

Craigieburn's four-game winning streak has been snapped, and it now leaves both sides with four wins and one loss, sitting second and third on the ladder, respectively.

Nicole Santos was a clear standout and kicked four goals for the Bears, among teammates Kiara Asani-Davis and Aarzu Mavi, who both continued their elite form.

Mietta Datson, Sienna Scuderi, and Mia Hitchens all had positive afternoons despite a tough loss for the Eagles.

Burnside Heights will host Keilor Park in a blockbuster clash at Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve next, while Craigieburn will be out for redemption when they meet East Sunbury at Vic Foster Reserve in an afternoon slot.
