ABERFELDIE 19.12 (126) def. MARIBYRNONG PARK 9.13 (67)
MATCH CENTRE

Aberfeldie has ended Maribyrnong Park’s winning run, defeating the Lions by 59 points at Clifton Park.

The win makes up for the Rillas disappointing loss last week against Pascoe Vale and moves them up to second spot on the ladder.

After a successful start to 2026, Saturday’s performance was a slight step back for Brodie Holland’s men who still have a few areas to work on if they want to compete with the top sides.

Coach Leigh Tudor was rapt with his side's midfield and backline as well as the connection going forward which allowed the side to boot 19 goals.

The home side raced out to a 20-point quarter time lead, thanks to six goals in the first quarter.

Abers backed it up with another four in the second term to extend the margin to 32 points at the main break.

The margin remained at 34 points at three quarter time before Abers put the foot down, booting five final-quarter goals to help ensure a comprehensive victory.

Will Brkic, Flynn Riley, and Sam Medland did the damage on the scoreboard booting four goals each, while Nic Watson and Matt Weber were both excellent.

Rory Atkins continued his hot start to the year for Marby, while Rook Barry and Josh Cole showed plenty of promise.

Maribyrnong Park will face another tough test next week when it hosts Pascoe Vale, while Abers will take on Hillside at Shark Park.

KEILOR 19.18 (132) def. AIRPORT WEST 9.15 (69)
MATCH CENTRE

Keilor has returned to the winner’s list after defeating Airport West by 63 points at Joe Brown Oval.

The win is the Blues' second victory of the season and makes up for last week’s disappointing performance against Essendon Doutta Stars.

Airport West is now without a win for four straight matches and is currently sitting in ninth spot on the ladder.

Coach Mick McGuane had high praise for his leaders who set the example, particularly Kane Barbuto and Corey Ellis, however felt his side's conversion could’ve been better.

The home side made the most of Airport West’s inaccuracy in the opening term, kicking four goals to open up a 17-point lead.

Last year’s minor premiers asserted their dominance in the second term booting eight goals, and went into the main break with a 55-point advantage.

Airport West did fight back in the third term to cut the lead to 34 points, however it made little difference with a six-goal final quarter ensuring a thumping victory for Keilor.

Jack Brown was brilliant in the middle of the ground while Nick O'Kearney dominated on return alongside Christian Oliveri.

Ned Gentile continued to fight his heart out booting another two goals, while Kai Daniels and Jacob Bygate were good once again.

Keilor will be looking for back-to-back wins when it travels to Section Road to square off with Greenvale, while Airport West will host Strathmore.

DEER PARK 12.11 (83) def. GREENVALE 10.14 (74)
MATCH CENTRE

Deer Park has gotten its season back on track, defeating Greenvale by nine points at John McLeod Reserve.

Saturday’s win is the Lions' second victory for the year and bumps them up to seventh spot on the ladder.

Greenvale is still searching for its second win, however has been competitive in most matches so far.

Once again Deer Park started strong, kicking six first-quarter goals and charged out to a 21-point lead.

Neither side could wrestle the momentum their way in the second quarter with both sides booting two goals each and left the margin at 19 points.

It was a similar story in the third quarter before Deer Park kicked the first two goals of the final term to stretch the lead out to 30 points.

Greenvale wouldn’t lie down and rallied late in the final term, kicking three quick goals to cut the lead to 10 points.

The Jets squandered three chances late and when the siren sounded, Deer Park had hung on for a close victory.

Lions coach Jamie Madigan was pleased with their ability to defend and close the Jets down on transition.

Nick Ebinger put in a strong showing with four goals, while Kwame McHarg and Jason Johannisen were both a class above the rest.

Josh Porter continues to be a handful up forward kicking another four goals, while Dane Whitnall and Kurtis Sanajko were very good.

Greenvale will be back at home to meet with Keilor, while Deer Park will take on Essendon Doutta Stars at Nipper Jordan Oval.

STRATHMORE 16.12 (108) def. PASCOE VALE 13.13 (91)
MATCH CENTRE

Strathmore has shown why it is still the benchmark across the competition after defeating Pascoe Vale by 19 points at Lebanon Reserve.

The win is the reigning premier;s sixth victory for the season and now means they have a one game and percentage buffer on top of the ladder.

Despite going down, Pascoe Vale proved it can still match it with the very best, however there is still room for improvement.

Matthew Horne’s men made their intention clear early one, kicking four first quarter goals while holding their neighbours goalless.

Pascoe Vale did claw its way back in the second quarter with four majors which cut Strathmore’s lead to 24 points.

A five-goal third quarter meant Strathmore still had a handy 31-point advantage heading into the last quarter.

The Panthers came with a rush early in the last quarter with three quick goals, before Strathmore steadied the ship with three of their own.

Pascoe Vale wasn’t done with just yet and hit back with another three goals, however Strathmore had the last laugh and kicked the final goal which ensured its unbeaten run would continue.

Mores coach Matthew Horne described the game as a "really strong contest".

"The game was in the balance with 10 minutes to go," Horne said. "We found a way to string together another win and look forward to another strong contest next week against Airport West."

Kade Mueller and Athan Tsialtas were excellent and booted four goals each, while Brock Egglestone was back to his brilliant best.

Carled El Khodr’s stocks continue to rise with another bag of five goals, while Charles Bolmat and Ben Allen had their best games for the year.

Strathmore will be hoping the streak continues when it faces Airport West at Hansen Reserve, while Pascoe Vale will meet with Marby at Monk Oval.

HILLSIDE 6.13 (49) def. by ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 16.12 (108)
MATCH CENTRE

Essendon Doutta Stars has made it two wins in a row, defeating Hillside by 59 points at Shark Park.

The win maintains Douttas' spot in fifth position of the ladder.

After some promising signs in recent weeks, the Sharks proved to be no match for Douttas across the four quarters.

The visitors got the better start and held firm to only allow the Sharks to one point for the quarter, however could only manage 2.6 in front of goal.

They faired slightly better in the second quarter with three goals, but their lead was still only 26 points.

Six goals to Douttas put the game to bed with the margin blowing out to 50 points at three quarter time, and another five final-quarter goals capped off a strong win.

Douttas coach Barry Prendergast described the win as an "even contribution".

"We defended well (with the) back six very solid," Prendergast said.

"(It) was great to kick 100 points for the first time this season.

"Our midfielders, particularly Tom Legudi and Liam Ryan really stepped up in the absence of our more established mids."

Bailey Ryan was back to his destructive best with five goals, while Liam Ryan and Dylan Laurie were both very good.

Nick Fluke’s strong season continued, while Atu Bosenavulagi had his best game since crossing over from St Albans.

Hillside will be looking to bounce back when it takes on Abers at Shark Park, while Douttas will be back at home against Deer Park.

HILLSIDE 1.1 (7) def. by ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 10.12 (72)
MATCH CENTRE

Essendon Doutta Stars has taken a massive scalp by winning over Hillside, as the Stars stunned the reigning premiers by 65 points at Shark Park.

It’s a victory that puts the Stars back on the winner's list while the Sharks’ slump has extended to a fourth-consecutive loss.

Ada Pizzinga was rightfully named the Doutta Galla Hotel player of the match following an impressive outing that saw her impact the scoreboard for the first time this season as she hauled a bag of six majors.

Jessie Hulett was the other Star to score multiples with three, while Mia Tully continued her consistent form with a lone goal marking her fifth-straight week of scoring.

Along with Pizzinga, Aleesha Hobbs and Candice Dyson were some of Doutta’s best as they lit up the Nelson Alexander EDFL Match of the Day.

With the Sharks’ disappointing displays continuing, the result now sees Hillside placed eighth on the table.

Nevertheless, there were some standouts in the teal, white, and black, as Emily Paterno was named the side's best after securing the club’s only goal late in the second quarter.

She’s joined by Lily McRostie and Annalise Wilkie as some of the teammates who had the strongest impact, with vice-captain Wilkie’s tenure on the best-on list extending to three weeks.

The Sharks will hit the road next weekend for an intriguing clash against Strathmore.

The third-placed Stars will have the weekend off before Round 7's meeting, also with the Mores, underneath Friday night lights.

KEILOR 0.3 (3) def. by MARIBYRNONG PARK 10.14 (74)
MATCH CENTRE

Maribyrnong Park has returned to the winner's list in stunning fashion after a 71-point masterclass victory over Keilor.

It was one-way traffic at Green Gully Reserve with Keilor unable to stop its opponents and were only able to put three behinds onto the scoreboard.

The Blues had to navigate Saturday’s contest after the loss of very handy players, with Emilly and Kaitlyn O’Keefe and Laura Wright all taken out of selection ahead of the clash.

Some of their best in the contest were Maddison Cotten, Olivia Castello, and Dakota Reynolds.

It was another dominant display from vice-captain Tegan Matthews who starred for the Lions with four goals against her old side.

Evie Fitzgerald and vice-captain Ava Steel both found the goal twice, while 16-year-old Dimi Papadopoulos sunk one through in her senior return.

Some of the best for the in-control Lions were Saskia Williams and Zoe Dullard, while Montana Kerr found a second-straight best-on appearance.

The Blues remain winless after the season’s first five matches and will look for an improved performance in next weekend’s meeting with Moonee Valley at Joe Brown Oval.

Maribyrnong Park, with its second win on the board, will look to continue to fire strong when it welcomes Aberfeldie to Walsh Oval on Saturday.

MOONEE VALLEY 5.4 (34) def. by CAROLINE SPRINGS 7.4 (46)
MATCH CENTRE

Caroline Springs has picked up its fourth-consecutive win and remain undefeated after a 12-point victory over Moonee Valley in an entertaining contest at Ormond Park.

In what was a good test for both sides meeting in the EDFL top flight for the first time, the Fog started fast when the black and white’s captain Nadia Valenti struck first.

Valenti would end up with three for the afternoon and was joined by Charlotte D’Ambrosio and Bonnie Farrell who both kicked one.

The Fog kept their grip in the contest all day, but it wasn’t enough to get over the Lakers who made better use of opportunities that they were presented with.

Jacinta Kondis had another impressive outing with a game-leading four goals and now has a tally of nine majors after three games.

Mira Diab was Carro’s other scorer who kicked multiple with two, and has now struck goal in each game that she’s played this year.

Chloe Kropman joins the duo in scoring her first major for the year, in her fourth appearance in the women’s top flight.

Standouts for the black and white were Matilda Zander, Jazmin Tweddle-O’Donnell, who suited up for the Fog for the first time since 2024, and Kate Maxwell, who’s been among the best for four-straight games.

Moonee Valley has an opportunity to get four more points on the board when it takes on the winless Keilor at Joe Brown Oval next weekend.

Caroline Springs will return home to go head to head with Oak Park.

ABERFELDIE 12.10 (82) def. STRATHMORE 1.5 (11)
MATCH CENTRE

Aberfeldie has made a statement after it downed Premier Division’s exciting Strathmore by 71 points at Aberfeldie Park.

In what was a battle between two of the competition’s heavy weights, the Two Blues proved too good and too strong, flexing their muscles and holding the Mores to just one goal.

While Strathmore’s familiar faces stood out yet again, with Milla Murphy, Eloise Egglestone, and Edith Kavanagh all displaying their best efforts, it was no match for a rampant Aberfeldie.

The Mores’ only goal came in the second quarter off the boot of Emma Artigas.

The huge win sees Aberfeldie hold top spot on the ladder with a 4-1 record, with a percentage of 280 keeping it well above the undefeated Caroline Springs.

Seven individuals had an impact on the goal sheet for Abers with two of them scoring multiple. Emily Smith found two and Moana Hope had another field day with five.

The Two Blues look unstoppable, and its lineup displays serious talent that covers all areas of the ground.

Elizabeth Woerndle, Amelia Wright, and Harriet Cashmore joined Maddy Hall, Tahni Nestor, and Hope in being some of the Abers team who stunned the Mores.

They’ll hit the road on Saturday as Abers travels to face off with local rivals Maribyrnong Park at Walsh Oval.

It’ll be a battle of the premiers at Lebanon Reserve next weekend as last year’s Division One champions Strathmore takes on the reigning Premier Division champions Hillside.

CRAIGIEBURN 17.8 (110) def. AVONDALE HEIGHTS 13.6 (84)
MATCH CENTRE

The wins keep on rolling for Craigieburn as it secured a comfortable 26-point win over Avondale Heights.

After an inseparable opening quarter which saw the Heights take a five-point lead into the first break, the Eagles put their foot down in the second quarter to roll out to a three-goal buffer at half time.

With the game in the balance, this lead would ultimately determine the result as the two sides could hardly be separated once again in the second half.

The Eagles would kick eight goals in the second half to the Heights' seven and went on to make it four wins out of five to start the season.

Brodie White was impressive up forward for the hosts with four goals for the day, while Ben Fynch was robust in defence.

For Avondale Heights, they slip down to sixth position on the ladder after their second defeat of the year.

Their second quarter lapse will no doubt be the focus of attention throughout the upcoming week as they look to keep in touch with the top end of the ladder.

Jack Murphy and Jamie Starzer kicked eight out of the Heights' 13 goals themselves, with the forwards kkicking four majors apiece.

Craigieburn will travel to Lionheart Reserve next week to take on Taylors Lakes, while it gets no easier for Avondale Heights as it hits the road again to take on Oak Park.

TULLAMARINE 11.16 (82) def. TAYLORS LAKES 8.5 (53)
MATCH CENTRE

Tullamarine has dealt Taylors Lakes its third loss in four weeks with a brave 29-point victory at Leo Dineen Reserve.

Taylors Lakes came out firing in the opening quarter with a dominant five-goal-to-two opening passage to take a 16-point lead into the first break in play.

However, the first quarter was just about where it ended for the Lions, as Tullamarine appeared to wake up and slowly kick into gear to rein in the deficit.

The Dees couldn’t capitalise on a dominant second quarter though as they registered 1.5 for the term to remain behind by eight points at half time.

They finally hit the scoreboard with five goals to two in the premiership quarter, before putting on another impressive display in the last to run away as an inaccurate five-goal winner.

Vice-captain Salvatore Melilli produced his best game for the season with three goals and plenty of the football, while young gun Sam Lazarevski was also a strong performer.

On the other side of the ledger, Taylors Lakes has sunk to 1-4 to start 2026 in what’s been a disappointing opening five weeks.

They just haven’t looked as sharp as they did last year, with a win a next week now an absolute necessity for the Lions.

Brandon Coletta continues to churn out excellent performances with another valiant effort here, with the key defender kicking two goals after a swing to the forward 50.

Tullamarine will look to add to its season tally when it takes on East Keilor next week, while Taylors Lakes will return home to host Craigieburn.

EAST KEILOR 9.2 (56) def. by OAK PARK 19.18 (132)
MATCH CENTRE

East Keilor’s woes have continued after they were put to the sword by Oak Park to the tune of 76 points at Overland Reserve.

There were ominous signs early after Oak Park hopped out to a dominant 36-point lead at the first break in play.

The Roos would go on to register 20 scoring shots to just the four from East Keilor in the first half to go into the main break with a 51-point lead in hand.

It was much of the same in the second half, with the Roos comfortably extending their lead out to a total of 76 points come the final siren.

With 10 individual goal kickers for the day, the Roos are starting to really hit their straps.

Oak Park will return home next week to host Avondale Heights, while East Keilor will remain at Overland Reserve to welcome the in-form Tullamarine.

RUPERTSWOOD 12.11 (83) def. by MOONEE VALLEY 17.18 (120)
MATCH CENTRE

Moonee Valley has banked another four points after it proved too strong for Rupertswood out at Salesian College.

The win sees the sizzling Moonee Valley move to 4-1, while Rupertswood remain winless at 0-5.

In a seesawing first half, the Valley kicked seven out of the first eight goals of the game before Rupo came storming back with five unanswered of their own to finish the half.

With an exciting second half looming, the Valley held a slender nine-point lead at the main break.

To the frustration of Rupo onlookers, the Valley took control of the game in the second half, booting 10 goals to six on their way to a fourth win in a matter of five weeks.

While for Rupertswood, it’s another case of a solid performance without taking home the four points.

They’ll need to tick off a win or two soon if they want to remain in touch with the top five heading into the second half of the season.

With an abundance of strong performers, Richard Potter hit the scoreboard for Moonee Valley with four majors, while gun recruit Mitch Clarke continues to impress after another three goals here.

For Rupertswood, Net Crotty battled hard in what was ultimately a disappointing result.

Rupertswood will be looking for their first win of the season next week when they take on St Albans, while Moonee Valley will face perhaps their biggest to date when they host West Coburg.

WEST COBURG 23.21 (159) def. ST ALBANS 4.10 (34)
MATCH CENTRE

West Coburg is back in familiar territory sitting on top of the Division One ladder after a comprehensive 125-point win over St Albans at Coburg City Oval.

In what turned out to be a second-half procession, the Burgers were simply far too good and delivered the Saints their third loss for the season.

After jumping out to a six-goal lead at half time, the Burgers significantly ramped up their pressure in the second half to kick 14 goals, while the Saints could only muster a single major.

Sixteen of the Burgers' 44 scoring shots came in the final quarter, with a whopping 14 individual goalkickers hitting the scoreboard in what was a complete team performance.

Iesa Saad booted four goals for the day, while an abundance of others also contributed to the final scorecard.

West Coburg will travel to Ormond Park next week to tackle the up-and-coming Moonee Valley, while St Albans will look to bounce back when it hosts Rupertswood.
