Greenvale’s lead reached 23 points at the final change and three fourth-quarter goals were enough to seal the victory.

Jets coach Anthony Rock was pleased with the whole team, stating they got reward for effort in the win.

Ben Speight and Dane Whitnall both booted three goals while Matt Stillman continued his consistent season with 25 disposals.

Despite going down, Lucas Failli put in an eye-catching performance kicking three goals and collecting 25 touches, while Adeola Akintola and Fort Caruso fought hard all day.

MATCH CENTRE

Keilor has broken its winless run for 2026, defeating Pascoe Vale by 27 points at Joe Brown Oval.

After going down to Strathmore and Aberfeldie to begin the season, Saturday’s match was the Blues' first taste of victory for the year against a quality opposition.

After a terrific start to the year with wins over Hillside and Greenvale, Pascoe Vale were competitive for most of the day but couldn’t match it for four quarters.

Coach Mick McGuane was disappointed with his side’s effort early in the game especially at the contest, but was satisfied with the changes his side made after quarter time that helped wrestle the momentum back.

The Panthers raced out of the blocks in the first term piling on 4.6 to open up a 22-point quarter time lead.

An even second quarter meant that Daniel Harris' men still had a 23-point advantage at the main break.

Keilor turned the game on its head in the third quarter, booting eight majors to turn the half time deficit into a 14-point lead.

Another five majors to the home side were enough to ensure their first victory for their 2026 campaign.

Josh Honey and Cody Brand were instrumental in turning the game in Keilor’s favour and both managed three goals, while Christian Oliveri was superb once again.

Carled El Khodr continued his fine form booting five goals from 24 disposals, while Lachlan Fazzolari and Rhys Ritchie both had excellent games.

Keilor will be looking to square the ledger when they take on Essendon Doutta Stars at Nipper Jordan Oval, while Pascoe Vale will host Aberfeldie.

STRATHMORE 23.14 (152) def. DEER PARK 12.9 (81)
MATCH CENTRE

Strathmore has maintained its spot on top of the ladder, defeating Deer Park by 71 points at Lebanon Reserve.

The win means the Mores still haven’t tasted defeat since Round 18 last year and are currently in first spot with a percentage of 164.

After taking a step forward last week against Hillside, Deer Park were disappointing once again away from home and couldn’t match it with the best in the competition.

Nick Ebinger was dominant in front of the goals booting seven majors in a losing side, while Jack Noonan had no trouble finding the footy, winning 26 disposals.

Strathmore will now turn its attention to this Saturday when they travel to Section Road to take on Greenvale, while Deer Park will host Maribyrnong Park.

MATCH CENTRE

Maribyrnong Park has continued its faultless start to 2026, defeating Essendon Doutta Stars by 28 points at Monk Oval.

The win sees the Lions jump up to second spot on the ladder and are still undefeated across their first three matches.

Despite showing positive signs early in the match, Douttas couldn’t withstand Marby’s pressure for four quarters and paid the full price.

Brodie Holland lauded his sides’ ability to stifle Douttas uncontested marking game as well as taking their chances in front of goal when it mattered.

Marby’s first quarters continued to be an issue, with the Stars kicking five goals and going into the break ahead by 22 points.

The Lions steadied the ship in the second quarter with six majors and went into the break with their noses in front.

Another six goals in the third quarter gave the Lions a four-goal buffer and backed it up again in the final quarter which ensured their third victory for the year.

Brandon Ryan was the star of the show kicking seven majors, while Ben Giobbi and Jack Gerardi continued their fine form to start 2026.

OAK PARK 3.7 (25) def. by STRATHMORE 5.4 (34)
MATCH CENTRE

Strathmore has come from behind at three-quarter time to snare a nine-point victory over Oak Park at JP Fawkner Reserve.

In what was a hotly contested match played in beautiful conditions on the Roos’ home deck, the Mores rose to the occasion when it mattered most.

It was the Kangas who opened the game strongly, leading by 14 at the first change, with the blue and white keen to make a statement against Strathmore who entered this match following its first loss in 637 days.

Oak Park held the lead in the contest right until the last change when it was in front by a narrow margin of 2.5 (17) to 2.2 (14).

An inaccurate prior two quarters for Oak Park spoiled the lead which could’ve been greater, with the Roos able to find one last major in the final term.

The Kangas’ goalscorers for the day were Tayah Kelly, Sasha Nelson, and Armina Sherifi, with Felicity Theodore, Brittney Gray, and Terira Fry some of the Roos’ best on Anzac Day.

But it was the Mores’ day in the end, with the gold and navy-blue storming home to a nine-point win with three goals in the final term.

Tegan Brett made her Strathmore debut in style with two goals coming off the boot of the Williamstown VFLW star.

Talia Motta secured her first major of the season, while Milla Murphy and Charli Sette are both on a roll in front of the big sticks, snagging majors in each game played so far this year.

Captain Eloise Egglestone was again named in the Mores’ best, picking up her third appearance in the list for the season.

Oak Park will look for redemption after consecutive losses when it travels to Shark Park for a grand final rematch against Hillside next weekend.

Strathmore will return home to challenge Moonee Valley on Saturday.

It was all Aberfeldie from the get-go as it stunned Moonee Valley, holding authority in the match from the moment it took to the field.

The Two Blues boasted stronger marking and efficient upfield play, with Moana Hope one of the club’s standouts in the match.

Hope was a ball-magnet in her 200th game, with all forward play honing in on her.

She ignited the scoreboard with five goals, the most of her campaign so far, showing that last year’s tally of 68 may be in her sight.

Abers’ Emily Smith was also one of the Two Blues’ best and was presented with the best-on-ground medal after an outstanding contest, with precise kicks, fast runs, and three goals to her name.

Olivia Madden was a strong ball-getter all over the field, joining Jess Duffin in a spectacular performance.

It was clear that Moonee Valley was overwhelmed by the strength of its opponent, but the Fog didn’t back down at all during the game.

The Fogs’ display was highlighted by strong attack on the ball, with the team in black and white applying heavy physical pressure throughout the match.

The Valley’s Michaela Chalhoub was a major possessions winner with strong tackling, and Kate Maxwell was strong in defence.

Charlotte D'Ambrosio and captain Nadia Valenti were the goalscorers for the black and white, adding some highlights to the day.

Next weekend will see Aberfeldie take on Keilor at home, while Moonee Valley travels to face Strathmore.

MARIBYRNONG PARK 1.1 (7) def. by ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 16.10 (106)
MATCH CENTRE

Essendon Doutta Stars have stunned the Lions and the competition following a commanding 99-point victory at Walsh Oval.

The Lions entered this match on a high following their first win in 630 days which came against the reigning premiers Hillside, but were held to only one goal on Anzac Day.

Douttas came into this clash in search of back-to-back wins after toppling Keilor by 42 points in Round 2.

The Stars took the advantage at the first change, leading 3.4 (22) to nil, and continued to fire from there, with eight goalscorers flexing their muscles along with all their teammates.

Mia Tully was dominant in front of goal and across the field and was named the Doutta Galla Hotel player of the match following a five-goal display.

Tully’s goal tally sits at a league-leading nine from three games played, beating her own tally of six in 2025.

Camryn Bux was another Essendon Doutta Star to kick multiple with three. Jessie Hulett and Stephanie Mitchell both slotted two.

Despite the result, there were some highlights for the Lions which will help keep their heads high throughout the week.

Andie Bessell was the lone goalscorer for the club, picking up her first major since 2023.

Montana Kerr and Chloe Healy both starred across the field, earning a spot on the top of the best-on list.

While it may be a disheartening result for the Lions who would’ve been very excited following last weekend’s stunning display, the team at Walsh Oval now have the bye where they can regroup and refocus ahead of Round 5’s match against Keilor.

The ladder-leading Douttas will look to make it three-straight when they host Caroline Springs.

MATCH CENTRE

Caroline Springs has gone 2-0 to open its Premier Division tenure, sending Keilor to a 0-3 start after the Lakers ran away with a 47-point victory at home.

It was a fast start for the Lakers who surged to a 31-point lead at the first change, with Kyla Tracey, Sharni Currie, Jacinta Kondis, Taya Meiers, and Mira Diab striking early, all of whom would be the club’s five goalscorers for the match.

Kondis was one of the Lakers’ standouts for the day, finishing with three majors.

Tracey, Ella Davis, and Kyah Tessari all played magnificently for Caroline Springs, all featuring on the best-on list.

After its opening term rampage, the Lakers quietened down for the second quarter as Keilor secured its three majors for the game inside a 10-minute window.

The Blues found success on the scoresheet from the boots of Maddison Cotton, Alyssa Old, and Melda Temurci.

While it gave Keilor something to smile about and some belief, it wasn’t enough to overcome a dominant opposition who held the Blues scoreless from thereon.

All three goalscorers were some of the best-on for Keilor, with Tahlia Psaila standing out for the Blues.

The only undefeated team left this season, Caroline Springs has started its season in style and rests second on the Airport Toyota Premier Division ladder.
