2025 Men's Season Preview - Strathmore

Club Previews

The 2025 season is just around the corner so EDFL Media will be previewing each club heading into Round One. Next, we chat to Strathmore coach Nick Ash who provides some insights on their 2025 campaign.

2024: 3rd (13W, 5L, 149.74%)

Coach: Nick Ash

PRE-SEASON FOCUS

"The connection piece with new players and coaches coming in, and the building of relationships have been key focuses this pre-season. The understanding of our game plan and the way we want to play has been the main area we have focused on throughout pre-season."

LIST SHAPE

"Having a strong junior program and being a club that likes to promote from within, we have focused much of our so called 'recruiting' on bringing the next wave of Strathmore junior players through to the senior system."

PLAYERS TO WATCH

"We are really excited to see the players who are transitioning from our 2024 Under 18 premiership side, taking the next step and becoming senior Strathmore players. There are quite a lot of players who we believe will become household names of the EDFL in years to come."

CLUB INITIATIVES & ACTIVITIES

"As a club we've continued building strong relationships with all football sides at Strathmore, supporting one another, and enjoying each other's achievements and company."

2025 OUTLOOK

"We want to continue the growth and development of all players on the list, with a mindset of always wanting to learn and striving to get better."

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

It was another deep finals run for the Mores in 2024 and despite some outgoing talent, you'd expect them to be able to go again in 2025. Coach Nick Ash is keen to utilise graduating Under 18 players to fill the missing slots on top of typically minimal recruiting in terms of volume. Former Port Adelaide ruck Sam Hayes is the big name coming in and fills the void in the ruck, while returning junior Matty Allison will be a nice inclusion should Coburg VFL commitments allow. It will be a different looking Mores outfit at times, but you'd expect them to be pushing for the double chance.

Ladder Prediction: Double chance territory.
