2025 Women's Season Preview - Keilor Park

Club Previews

The 2025 season is just around the corner so EDFL Media will be previewing each club heading into Round One. Next, we chat to Keilor Park coach Marcus Barclay who provides some insights on their 2025 campaign.

Coach: Marcus Barclay

PRE-SEASON FOCUS

"The biggest focus for me this pre-season has been getting to know the Keilor Park girls who chose to stay on with the club for 2025. We had lots of feedback from them, both as a group and individually, to make the team better on and off field.

"We have a number of new players that have come to the club, so it has been important to unite the group as much as possible to build a great culture."

PLAYERS TO WATCH

"It’s very cliche but the attitude of all the 2024 Keilor Park girls has been outstanding.

"The leaders of 2024, Caitlyn Crameri, Mia Tournas, Taylor Evans and Team of the Year representative Alex Kilty have been a pleasure to coach so far.

"Young players like Alana Vidov and Isabella Arvanitis have trained well and are keen to improve.

"New recruits Krystyn Raymundo, Shelby Crawford, and Maddison Cooper are very professional in their approach to footy so those three, along with all our new girls have fitted in extremely well and have a great attitude."

2025 OUTLOOK

"The biggest goal for 2025 is sustaining women’s football at Keilor Park – building a strong culture for young women to enjoy each other’s company, both on and off field."

ON THE RECORD WITH MARCUS BARCLAY

Who is the unsung hero at your club?

Scott Kempster has been at the club as a player and in football operations for over 20 years and without him, the club might not exist.

All the volunteers that still support this club are heroes.

Player most likely to become a coach one day?

Tiana Jackson (always thinks our drills could be better).

Biggest pest at the club?

No stand outs just yet, but Alana Vidov is staking a claim.

Who has the quickest set of wheels?

Jessica Andrews and Bella Arvanitis might need a race.

Favourite piece of coaching wisdom?

Health, family, and work / uni are far more important than local sport.

Flag tip outside of Keilor Park?

Burnside Heights.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

It was a successful return season for Keilor Park's women's side who made finals after a five-year hiatus. Club legend Marcus Barclay has returned to the Devils as senior coach and comes across with a number of incoming players. With good retention and a continued view for sustained success, Keilor Park will be looking at another finals campaign to bolster its program.
