It's no surprise that 2024 grand finalists Maribyrnong Park and West Coburg lead the 2024 Strathmore Community Bank Division One Team of the Year forming over half of the 22!
Marby co-captain Matthew Gaul will lead the Team of the Year as captain with Todd Clark named the coach after a history-making season with Oak Park.
West Coburg pair Emilio Rinaudo and Liam Bowkett will line up in either back pocket with Scott Clarke (Maribyrnong Park) backing up his selection in last year's Premier Division Team of the Year, named at full back.
The half back line is comprised of three players who are the sole representatives of their clubs in Jamie Gorgievski (Craigieburn) and 2024 recruits Jake Long (Tullamarine) and Brandon Coletta (St Albans).
The top five goal kickers in the competition patrol the forward line, led by Hillside's Josh Covelli at full forward who ecplised triple figures in the first final, ending the home-and-away season with 98 goals.
Oak Park's Kane O'Halloran finished the season second on the goal kicking tally with 61 goals and will start in the forward pocket, with West Coburg's Ibby Taha (52 goals) in the other.
Marby young gun James Kayrooz will start at centre half forward after a 58-goal season, with Burgers teammates Omar Saad (53 goals) and Muhammad Saad (40 goals) on the flanks.
Roxburgh Park's Jack Elliott retains his spot in the ruck with reigning Hutchison Medallist Tom Baravi (West Coburg) again in the engine room.
Brodie Romensky returned to Maribyrnong Park and is the starting centre after a stellar season, with Moonee Valley's Harry Fry completing the midfield unit with the highest average disposal count in the competition (38.8).
Skipper Gaul will start on a wing with Oak Park's Jedd Taylor the other.
Starting on the pine is West Coburg's Dinny Cleary, Maribyrnong Park's Lachie Plowman, and Moonee Valley's Bevan Newell and Luke Denny.
SELECTION PROCESS & CRITERIA
