The EDFL is proud to announce the 2024 Strathmore Community Bank Division Two Team Of The Year!
The big risers in Burnside Heights dominate the team, led by Coach and Captain of the Team of the Year Cole Harvey and Jordan Hughes.
Bears teammates Lachlan Evans and Dion Lawson enjoyed a strong partnership in the midfield and will start in the engine room, with Tyson Iglesias and Nick Gregson at either end of the ground.
Rebounding Westmeadows defenders Jordan Kosteas and Jarrod Petersen line up in the back pockets, with Taylors Lakes' Jack Burns moving from the bench of last year's team to half back.
He will join Sunbury Kangaroo Mitch Kook who retains his spot from last year's team, with Glenroy's Cody Wight starting at centre half back.
Taylors Lakes star Chris Vulic will complete the midfield unit with Hughes, with Aaron Evans (Westmeadows) and Sam Godden (Hadfield) lining up on the wings.
Up front is a daunting proposition with back-to-back leading goal kicker and Team of the Year full forward Khoder Taleb (60 goals) starting alongside Northern Saints partner in crime Nick Bruno (57 goals).
Coburg Districts' Jack McNamara joins Gregson as versatile tall forwards with Hadfield's Josh Trembearth and Westmeadows' Korey Flavel-Wood comprising the forward six.
Starting on the bench is Lachlan Rayner (Taylors Lakes), Daniel Riley (Glenroy), Shawn Bowden (Sunbury Kangaroos), and Aaron Vendramini (Taylors Lakes).
SELECTION PROCESS & CRITERIA
All EDFL Teams of the Year are compiled based solely on the input of each club’s senior coach.
The 2024 Strathmore Community Bank Division Two Team of the Year was to recognise the best players of the 2024 home-and-away season.
Other factors such as reputation or form in previous seasons were not to be taken into account.
The Coach and Captain of the Year are determined based on the feedback provided by the senior coaches.
