The EDFL is proud to announce the 2026 Airport Toyota Division One Team of the Year!
All but one club boasts a representative with Gemma Wright (Westmeadows) named captain, and Burnside Heights' Michael Davis the coach.
Westmeadows is unsurprisingly well represented five players in the side, Courteney Munn and Courtney Bligh making up two of the five forward slots.
Olivia Antonello (Burnside Heights) will start in the second full forward position, while Keilor Park's Georgia O'Donovan and Roxburgh Park's Haylea Cooke complete the forward five.
Jorgia Redmond (Burnside Heights) and Tricia Devine (Tullamarine) have been named as the deepest defenders, with Taylors Lakes pair Rebecca Foggie and Courtney McCormack starting on the half back flank.
Sarah Docherty (Coburg Districts) will round out the defensive unit, with Lions teammate Bridgette Aparo starting on the wing.
Ella Guest (Westmeadows) will make it four Tigers players starting on the field holding down the second wing position.
Wright will start in the engine room with Amy O'Kelly (Gisborne) and Maddison Albrecht (Craigieburn), with Karla Tentonello (Sunbury Lions) starting in the ruck.
Starting on the interchange is Sarah Wright (Westmeadows), Aarzu Mavi (Burnside Heights), Ruby Taranto (East Sunbury), Zoe Manning (Coburg Districts), Antonietta Parisi (Keilor Park), and Sienna Gioupas (Craigieburn).
All EDFL Teams of the Year are compiled based solely on the input of each club’s senior coach.
The 2026 Airport Toyota Division One Team of the Year was to recognise the best players of the 2026 home-and-away season.
Other factors such as reputation or form in previous seasons were not to be taken into account.
The Coach and Captain of the Year were determined based on the feedback provided by the senior coaches.
