2024 Women's Season Preview - Tullamarine

#RoadToWindyHill

Round One might be in the books, but scouting ahead at each club's season outlook doesn't stop. We chat to new Tullamarine coach Travis Fitzpatrick who provides some insights on what their 2024 campaign will look like.

Coach: Travis Fitzpatrick

PRE-SEASON FOCUS

"This preseason we've been working on our skills, fitness, and increasing the speed of our ball movement."

PLAYERS TO WATCH

"Our leaders in Tricia Devine and Skyla Cain will be ones to watch, as well as Elisha Wain and Amy Warden. Ash Lawton is another who is playing her first year of footy – a great netballer, a quick learner with elite speed and endurance."

2024 OUTLOOK

"We want to win more games than we lose, and play an exciting brand of footy."

RAPID FIRE WITH TRAVIS FITZPATRICK

Shot after the siren to win, who do you want kicking it?

Kiara Bridget (Red).

Biggest improver over preseason?

Bianca Devine and Ash Lawton.

Who’d put their hand up to be the pre-game DJ?

Maddy Agius. Also the fines co-ordinator.

Which side are you looking forward to playing the most and why?

Greenvale, we respect them and know they will challenge us big time. Also ANZAC DAY against Keilor Park will be a privilege to kick off the day before the reserves and seniors.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

It was a tough first season in Division One for Tullamarine in terms of results, but it was affirmed by 2023 coach Peter Labbad that the results didn't reflect how they were going. Incoming coach Travis Fitzpatrick and his troops will face some unknowns in 2024 in terms of opposition sides, although with strong retention and the inclusion of Elisha Wain, they should find themselves on the other side of results throughout 2024.
