2023 Airport Toyota Women's Division Two Team of the Year

After an undefeated premiership season, Airport West feature prominently in the 2023 Airport Toyota Women's Division Two Team of the Year.

The Eagles boast eight representatives in the team starting down back with Talisa Bartolo holding down one of the two full back posts.

She lines up alongside Sunbury Kangaroos' Lisa Kirby with teammate Courtney McCormack earning a spot on the half back flank.

Coburg Districts playing assistant coach Kaila Ducret holds down centre half back with Maribyrnong Park's Amelia Swinson rounding out the back five.

Division Two Grand Final Best on Ground Natasha Campbell is the starting centre and is joined by Airport West teammate Cheyene Macumber in the midfield and Maribyrnong Park's Grace Van Hees, with Coburg District's Olivia Woods starting in the ruck.

Lily Robinson (Aberfeldie) and Rhiarn Daley (Airport West) are the two wings for 2023.

Airport West's forward half were incredibly potent and will hold down the two full forward posts with league leading goal kicker Emily Gipp (54 goals) and runner up Georgia O'Donovan (37 goals).

Starting at centre half forward is their Eagles teammate Lauren Clark who finished third in the goal kicking tally with 32 goals.

Jacinta Brew (Coburg Districts) and Jacqueline Wade (Aberfeldie) round of the forward five.

The bench of the Team of the Year is comprised of Holli Cecchini (Sunbury Kangaroos), Felicity Whelan (Aberfeldie), Antonietta Parisi (Airport West), Beth Millsteed (Coburg Districts), Madelene Theodosis (Moonee Valley), Sami Minton-Connell (Aberfeldie), Sarah Docherty (Coburg Districts), and Georgia Marinier (Sunbury Kangaroos).

The coach and captain of the Team of the Year will be announced at the EDFL Presentation Evening on September 28.


SELECTION PROCESS & CRITERIA

All EDFL Teams of the Year are compiled based solely on the input of each club’s senior coach.

The 2023 Airport Toyota Women's Division Two Team of the Year was to recognise the best players of the 2023 home-and-away season.

Other factors such as reputation or form in previous seasons were not to be taken into account.

The Coach and Captain of the Year are determined based on the feedback provided by the senior coaches.
