2018 EDFL Fixture Reveal – Strathmore Community Bank Division 2

Round 1 Begins April 7

THE 2018 Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 season will open on Saturday April 7.

The EDFL has finalised the 2018 fixture for all Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 clubs, with two twilight games and the annual standalone Queen’s Birthday Weekend clash included as marquee games to look forward to.

As always, every club will face each other twice in the first 14 rounds before playing four more sides for a third time from Rounds 15 to 18.

The finals will commence with Semi Final 2 on Saturday August 18.

One notable change to the EDFL Finals structure in 2018 is the Preliminary Final, which for all three divisions will be played as a Sunday game, six days prior to their respective Grand Final.

The Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 decider will be the first of the three played in 2018 and will take place at Windy Hill on Saturday September 1.

Hadfield returns to the division after spending two seasons in Essendon Ford Division 1 and will play East Sunbury on the road in Round 1 before hosting local rival, Northern Saints, at Martin Reserve in Round 2.

Meanwhile Burnside Heights will host two twilight fixtures in the first half of the season as they look to improve their way up the ladder in 2018.

The first of the two clashes will be in Round 2 against rival East Sunbury, while Keilor Park will be the opponent under lights in Round 8.

East Sunbury will again play on the Queen’s Birthday weekend but for the first time, will not be at home, with the Northern Saints to host the Thunder at Charles Mutton Reserve in what will be the only game played in the entire EDFL on June 9.
