LAST week we announced the venues for our 2018 senior men’s grand finals.
Windy Hill remains the spiritual home of the EDFL with so many fantastic finals memories.
It is also the home base for our umpires and administration.
We’re therefore delighted that all three men’s grand finals will all be held at Windy Hill this year.
Where the initial plan was to have the men’s grand finals over three consecutive weekends, with the re-draw of Strathmore Community Bank Division 2, that had to be changed.
Essendon Ford Division 1 will be held on Saturday September 8, with Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 the following Saturday September 15 and Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division on Sunday September 16.
With two grand finals on the same weekend, it was vital for both to be held at Windy Hill, and important that our last match for the year be the Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division Grand Final.
Our junior grand finals will be held over two weekends.
All age groups from Under 11 through to Under 17 for Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be held on Sunday August 19.
The Sunday prior, August 12, will see grand finals for all other divisions.
With all Under 9 competitions, scores are not kept for home-and-away matches and there are no ladders maintained, nor any finals played.
There are only four home-and-away rounds left for junior teams, with the final matches being played on Sunday, July 22.
The following week, finals begin with Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 across all age groups playing a final five format across four weeks, and Divisions 5 to 8 playing a final four format over three weeks.
These finals formats for juniors cover both girls and boys competitions.
There will be 26 premiership teams in our junior boys competitions and nine in our junior girls, making July and August exciting months ahead.
With so many finals matches to be played across senior and junior, female and male, we will be utilising many venues to host these matches and those details will be announced soon.
