Round 4 Preview - Strathmore Community Bank Division 2

By LIAM McALLION

Coburg Districts v Roxburgh Park (Radio Game)

CONFIDENCE is brewing for both teams from the weekend with Coburg Districts getting a monster win and Roxburgh Park getting over the line in a thriller, so both teams will bring energy through to this must-see match-up.

It will be another exciting shootout with key forwards Luke Vesnaver for the Lions and Roxburgh Park’s Reece Tarczon on show.

Both teams are coming off huge games in front of goal and will be looking to do this again in a big-bodied, high-flying affair.

The tactics in crowded defence and spread offence for both teams will make for a highly-skilled, fast-paced game, with much of the play being made off the half back line.

The Magpies are looking to climb the ladder and the Lions want to prove they deserve to be at the pinnacle, so it’s a must-see contest that will help split the powerhouse teams from the others in Strathmore Community Bank Division 2.

Northern Saints v Burnside Bears

It has been a positive start to the season for the Northern Saints, beating some of the more experienced sides, yet a tough start for the Bears.

Forward presence, pressure and punishment on the scoreboard will be a feature through keys at both ends of the ground with the Saints’ Khodr Taleb and Bears’ Josh Covelli wanting to continue their hot form with many more majors.

This match also highlights a few of the versatile players of the division in the Bears’ Anthony Fawcus and Saints’ Darren Saad, who use their height and athletic ability, not only in the ruck but in high leaping and contested marking forward and back.

With many players capable of putting on a show, a high-scoring, spirited game of footy will be on display for fans.

Keilor Park v Moonee Valley

Although winless to start the 2017 season, Keilor Park will be keen to provide some competitiveness against Moonee Valley – the side that knocked the Devils out of last year’s finals series.

Moonee Valley has had a positive start to the season, but can be better.

High efficiency and impact on the scoreboard will be a plan that needs to be executed for Keilor Park and will be displayed through John-Carlo Ravanello, who will use his run and in-and-under skills all day.

Moonee Valley and its captain Ned Wilson, much like the Devils, will rely on the midfield to get the ball inside 50 and convert.
