Round 10 Preview - EDFL Women's (Part 1)

By JULIA MONTESANO

KEILOR PARK v ABERFELDIE

Saturday 2:20pm @ Keilor Park Reserve

UNFORTUNATELY, another round marked another big loss for Keilor Park, this time going down to the Sunbury Lions by 61 points.

Another consistent effort from Sarah German saw her kick the only goal for the Devils on the day.

She was complemented by solid performances from Ashleigh Armstead and Leesa Wilson, who tried to get something going for the Devils.

They will come up against an Aberfeldie side on the rebound, coming off an almighty effort against the second-placed Burnside Heights.

It will be up to defender, Georgia McCormick to keep Keilor Park’s Sarah German quiet, and she is more than up to the task after holding star Bears forward, Kayla Ravanello to just two goals.

However, it was inaccuracy that has plagued the Gorillas again, as they scored just three goals from 15 scoring shots, missing key opportunities to cause an upset against the high-flying Bears.

The match also saw inspirational captain, Kurtis Shine go down with a serious injury, requiring an ambulance at the ground on Friday night.

With the loss of Shine and inaccuracy woes making the Gorillas vulnerable, Keilor Park may be in with a chance if they can keep up with Gorillas stars such as Olivia Madden and Amber Wescombe for four quarters.
