Reviews Conducted With Three EDFL Clubs

League Statement

THE EDFL wishes to confirm a review was conducted of the Allowable Player Payments Process for three of its clubs following the 2017 season.

The League appointed an AFL Victoria accredited Integrity Officer to review three clubs in Aberfeldie, Essendon Doutta Stars and Pascoe Vale.

“For the 2017 season, the introduction of the Allowable Player Payments System was always intended to be for educational purposes,” EDFL Chief Executive Craig Armstead said.

“The value of having an educational year was validated by the fact that errors were found with all three clubs. All clubs have been very co-operative and transparent throughout the process.

“However, there have been incorrect interpretations of the rules and procedural mistakes.

“We have provided the three clubs with a copy of their respective reports and are working through the details of the reports with those clubs.”

The League shall not make any further comment until this process has been completed.
