STRATHMORE COMMUNITY BANK PREMIER DIVISON

Essendon Doutta Stars v Keilor

As expected, Dustin Fletcher is not part of Essendon Doutta Stars’ 25-man squad. Nonetheless, Douttas have named a very strong team with recruits Jordan Schroder, Nathan Karuzo and Jack Landt all named.

Damien Cavka has been named in Keilor’s 25-man squad that features 13 of the premiership 22 from Grand Final Day last year, including Andrew Browne and Dean Galea. 

Strathmore v Maribyrnong Park

No Hamish McIntosh nor Matt Little for the Mores going into their first game with Nathan Grima as Senior Coach. Grima himself is out for the year with a knee injury. Nonetheless, a number of Strathmore’s established stars are all named in their 24-man squad mixed in with some lesser-known youngsters.

Marby’s side looks to be pretty close to full-strength with new recruits Will Martiniello, Tom Baravi, Panaioti Kokkinakis and Omar Saad all named in their 25-man squad.

Aberfeldie v Greenvale

There are two Blackwells, two Cattapans and two Hislops in Aberfeldie’s 25-man squad. Also named is returning captain Luke Davis and fellow former bomber, Kyle Reimers.

For the Jets, Paul Chapman has been named in the 25-man squad along with Greenvale’s other big signing, Courtenay Dempsey. Rowan Nayna is also back after injury stifled his 2016 campaign. Former Coburg gun Ozgur Uysal is also named.

West Coburg v Pascoe Vale

Daniel Johncock and Mahmoud Taleb are among some of the new West Coburg names in their selected 22-man squad. Taleb lodged a clearance from Hillside earlier this week. Also named are both Cleary boys, Donnacadh & Ruairi.

Kyle Hardingham is back for Pascoe Vale after a forced year off and new veteran recruit Craig Anderson is also in the Panthers’ 22-man team for Saturday.

Craigieburn v Avondale Heights

The Eagles have named 24 players for their first Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division game since 2012. Among them are 12 premiership players from their Essendon Ford Division 1 triumph, including Aaron Kite, Jeremy Page and Josh Young.

Avondale Heights coach Rick Horwood has named a strong 24-man squad that includes Cameron Wood, Mathew Cravino and Patrick Rose. 

ESSENDON FORD DIVISION 1

Airport West v Tullamarine

As expected, Airport West has named a very new-look side for its first game back in Essendon Ford Division 1 since their 2012 Grand Final win.

Tullamarine has named a slightly new-look 22-man sqaud following numerous off-season retirements. Some of the new names are Brad Allen, Matthew Corbett and Scott Thomas.

Westmeadows v Oak Park

The Tigers have named a strong 24-man squad that includes the returns of key players Mitch Church and Robbie Mullen, who both missed a fair chunk of footy in 2016. Most of Westmeadows’ key new recruits have also been named.

Oak Park’s 25-man squad is a mix of old and new with new coach Michael Hooper a chance of pulling on the boots at Willowbrook. Essendon Doutta Stars premiership player Nathan Sciberras has also been named to play his first game for Oak Park since Round 18, 2012.

Glenroy v East Keilor

Plenty of new faces will be lining up for Glenroy, with Luke Capuano, James Bennie, Daniel Ferraro and Judd Brewster all among their 25-man squad. Daniel Barakat, Zac Polizzi and Matthew Willox are currently emergencies in a side that will go very close to the 48-point cap.

East Keilor’s new co-senior coaches Ash Arrowsmith and Nick Grigg are both named in the Cougars’ 25-man squad for their first game back up in Essendon Ford Division 1. Also named is new ruckman James Barnes, with a large portion of the remaining side being made up of 2016 premiership players.

STRATHMORE COMMUNITY BANK DIVISION 2

Moonee Valley v Roxburgh Park

Moonee Valley has named a very strong 25-man squad that includes 2016 Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 B&F Ned Wilson and new recruit, Loui Oppedisano, who left Roxburgh Park for Moonee Valley over the summer.

Despite a eventful summer, Roxburgh Park has named a fairly strong 24-man squad.

Keilor Park v Northern Saints

As expected given its very little list turnover, Keilor Park has named a 25-man squad full of 2016 regulars. Recruit Scott Lambert is also in the side.

Meanwhile for the Northern Saints, all three Gray brothers have been named in their 24-man squad for their first ever Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 game. 

Jacana v Coburg Districts

As confirmed by coach Robbie Fletcher on EDFL Tonight earlier this week, Cam Cloke is not part of Jacana’s 22-man squad. Chris Johnson. Justin Mall, Dylan Wolfgramm and Billy Morrison have all been named.

Coburg Distrcits have also named a 22-man side with several new faces following a heavy summer of recruiting. As a result, Coburg Districts has reached its 48-point limit with this squad.

Burnside Heights v East Sunbury

Boom recruit Josh Covelli, after some speculation, has been named to line up for Burnside Heights this weekend. The Bears named 22 players in their squad for their home twilight game.

East Sunbury also named 22 players for the clash, including Callum Lever and Jorden Braddy.
