THE Essendon District Football League community has today been terribly saddened by the passing of Life Member, Geoff Brown.
Mr Brown was the most recent person to be awarded EDFL Life Membership at last year's Season Launch after more than two decades of tremendously dedicated service to both the Aberfeldie Football Club and the wider EDFL community.
Aberfeldie shared the following message on its Facebook page earlier today.
"It is with great sadness that the Aberfeldie Sports Club announce the passing of our esteemed member Geoff Brown," it said.
"Geoff's contribution to the Aberfeldie Sports Club for well over 25 years was amazing and saw him recognised as a Life Member of the ASC in 2008 and an EDFL Life Member 2019.
"The ASC is a better place from having Geoff Brown be part of it.
"The Aberfeldie Sports Club send our condolences to Geoff's family and friends."
The EDFL also offers its condolences to the Brown family and the Aberfeldie Football Club.
