In the end the final margin blew out to 66, with Andrew Gallucci and Athan Tsialtas both kicking two goals.

Kyle Weightman (one goal) was best-on-ground.

Eagles Into Grand Final

CRAIGIEBURN advanced to its third Division 1 Grand Final since 2015 after overpowering East Keilor in Saturday’s Qualifying Final at Windy Hill.

The margin never strayed beyond a couple of kicks through to the final term, before the Eagles finally managed to break the game open with seven goals to three in the last to claim a 26-point win.

Josh Young (three goals), Corey Viani (three) and Caelan Anderson (one) were influential throughout the day for Craigieburn.

Dion Hill returned for East Keilor and booted three, with Ash Arrowsmith named the Cougars’ best.

East Keilor will now have to front up for this Saturday’s Preliminary Final against Tullamarine at Coburg City Oval for the right to meet Craigieburn in the September 14 decider.

Demons Beat Tigers In Semi

SUNDAY’S sudden death Semi Final between Tullamarine and Westmeadows followed a fairly similar course to Saturday’s qualifier, with the Demons kicking clear late after an even first three quarters at Windy Hill.

The Tigers kept up with the more fancied Demons throughout the day with Robbie Castello starring across the ground but in the end, Tullamarine was able to break the game open to score a 33-point win.

Tim Matson earned best-on honours for his stellar job on the division’s goal kicking champion, Omar Saad, who only kicked one major for the day.

At the other end, Blair Cronin and Jack Burns both starred up forward with four goals apiece with Brad Allen and Caleb Harward contributing two more of their own.

The win sets up a mouth-watering Preliminary Final with East Keilor this Saturday.

In their two home-and-away meetings, the Demons and Cougars have claimed one win apiece.

Fog Too Classy For Bears

MOONEE Valley brought its A-game to Coburg City Oval in Saturday’s Preliminary Final against Burnside Heights.

With the returning Jordan Faba booting five goals and Braden Padmore (three goals) and Cory McGrath (one) both dominating the game, the Fog simply had too much star power on the park for the Bears to keep up with and eventually went on to claim a very impressive 68-point victory.

The win was set up early with five goals to one in the opening quarter.

From there, the Bears could not fight their way back into the contest and by game’s end, could only kick seven goals for the day.

Josh Covelli, coming off a dominant six-goal haul against Coburg Districts, was kept goalless on Saturday.

The win booked Moonee Valley its first grand final appearance since 2013.

The undefeated Sunbury Kangaroos will be the opponent at Windy Hill on Saturday.
