GREENVALE maintained its place in the Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division top four with a hard-fought eight-point win at Avondale Heights on Saturday.

TULLAMARINE’S recent dominance over crosstown rival Westmeadows continued with a 14-point win at Leo Dineen Reserve on Saturday.

In what was a close, see-sawing affair, the Demons made use of the scoring end in the final term break away from the Tigers late, improving their 2019 record to 8-1 to retain top spot on the Division 1 table.

Blair Cronin combined with Richard Findlay for two goals in a best-on-ground display and was well-supported by Tim Matson and Dean Simmons around the ground.

Tigers captain Robbie Castello returned to the side in style, kicking three goals in another solid performance that could shorten his Hutchison Medal odds.

It was Tullamarine’s seventh consecutive win over Westmeadows, with coach David Connell now boasting a perfect 4-0 record over his former club since crossing over to the Demons at the end of 2017.
