'AFL Victoria and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) are thrilled to announce that over 100 clubs will receive more than $300,000 in funding, as part of the inaugural TAC Towards Zero Club Grants Program.

Clubs across the Barwon, Goldfields and Metropolitan regions were eligible to take part in the program this year. Clubs were selected for their outstanding leadership and effort in promoting the Towards Zero message and road safety activities throughout the season.

Head of AFL Victoria Rick Bell said that the successful clubs displayed a tremendous commitment to the Towards Zero message which was evident in their activities throughout the season.

“The Towards Zero message is one that really resonates with our football community, particularly in the regional areas where participants are often spending a considerable amount of time on the road during the season, in all sorts of conditions.

“The level of initiative that was taken by the successful clubs to really drive and take ownership of the campaign went over and above what was expected.

“We thank the TAC for their continuous support of Victorian football for over 28 years, and we look forward to seeing the program roll out again next year as we continue to strive Towards Zero,” Mr. Bell said.

The investment will go towards projects including women’s football program implementation and development, community education and mental health sessions, first aid equipment, new playing and training equipment, and facility upgrades to ensure a safe environment for everyone.'
