Brett Scott To Step Down As Chairman At Season’s End

Chairman Announces Departure

EDFL Chairman and Life Member Brett Scott has this week informed EDFL stakeholders of his upcoming departure from the role at year’s end.

Scott, who’s been Chairman since taking over from Ian Price at the end of 2012, will formally step away from the Chairmanship in December’s Annual General Meeting.

The EDFL has experienced significant growth in Scott’s six-year reign, including the introduction of both East Sunbury and Burnside Heights into open-age men’s competitions, the inclusion of junior clubs Ascot Vale and Hume Bombers, the launch of EDFL Women’s, and the successful implementation of a third senior men’s division, Strathmore Community Bank Division 2.

The EDFL staff has more than doubled in that time and the EDFL itself has moved from Marshall Road in Airport West to Windy Hill, the home of EDFL Finals Footy.

Scott will be speaking at Sunday’s Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division Grand Final Luncheon, where Tony Schibeci will be the MC and former Westmeadows junior and Brownlow Medallist, Dane Swan, will be the guest of honour.
