2020 Season Preview Series - Oak Park

#EDFL2020

2019 RECAP

It was a tough year for Oak Park in Division 1, only managing to win a single game and finish its campaign as the team relegated down to Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 for Season 2020.

The Kangaroos went 1-3 in their most important games of the season against fellow Division 1 battlers Roxburgh Park and Taylors Lakes, with their only win coming in Round 12 over the Magpies.

While Oak Park's defence did perform well at times, the Roos' biggest struggles occurred up forward, ending the season as the only team in the division with less than 1000 points scored across their 16 games played.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

Trying to predict how a club will go in a new division should always be done with caution, but based on what we do know about Oak Park's prospects so far, it's clear the Kangaroos will enter 2020 with good momentum.

All of the top five from last year's best-and-fairest are back, while former senior regulars Michael Peart, Bryce Crosswell, Jesse Hemmens and Isaac Willett are among a handy list of recruits that will bolster Oak Park's structure across the ground.

With a fairly kind draw to start the season and plenty of good experience on the list, if the Roos get off to a hot start, then they'll be well and truly among premiership calculations as the season unfolds.
