2020 Season Preview Series - Coburg Districts

#EDFL2020

2019 RECAP

After producing a 10-5 home-and-away record, percentage was the only thing that kept Coburg Districts out of the top two come season's end.

The Lions put together an impressive five-game winning streak in the middle of the season, which included victories over fellow finalists Burnside Heights and Moonee Valley to help set up their top four finish.

In the Elimination Final at Section Road, Districts fell away badly after trailing by two points at three-quarter time, going on to lose to Burnside Heights by 40 points.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

With runaway 2019 champ Sunbury Kangaroos now out of the division, Coburg Districts could be one to give the Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 premiership race a decent shake in 2020.

The Lions made it a clear focus to retain their existing list after making the finals in 2019 and with some handy inclusions coming into the side, including 2017 competition B&F winner Luke Vesnaver and Nathaniel Biggs, it's hard to see Districts sliding down the ladder this year.

Given a decent run from an injury perspective, anything less than another top four finish would be below par for these Lions in 2020.
