THE EDFL is running two Foundation Coaching Courses for all coaches in February and March.
Participation is strongly recommended for all new coaches.
The EDFL believes coaching education is important to ensure all club coaches have sound training in their craft.
The courses below provide opportunities for all coaches, especially first-year coaches, to upskill and learn before the start of the season.
Foundation Coaching Course dates are now confirmed for Season 2018 – details as follows:
Course : Foundation Senior (U18 – Senior)
Date: Tuesday 20th February
Time: 6:30 – 9:30pm
Venue: Essendon Football Club (275 Melrose Drive, Tullamarine 3043)
Cost: $60 (includes Coaching Board)

Course : Foundation Youth (U13 – U17)
Date: Tuesday 20th March
Time: 6:30 – 9:30pm

The Junior Course date will be confirmed shortly, but will most likely follow a different registration process.
**IMPORTANT** Attendance at the above mentioned courses will not get coaches their Foundation Level Accreditation. In order to gain this accreditation, coaches will need to complete the relevant online course on our new Learning Management System. As previously outlined, this system is due to go live at the beginning of March next year. The courses outlined above are 100% practical and are designed to complement the learning coaches will receive via the new online system. Please note there will also be a cost attributed to registering for the Online Component of the course – yet to be determined at this point.
